January in the Grapes

This month in the Grapes we have had a blast learning all about snow, winter clothing and arctic animals. The students did a wonderful job completing a variety of sensory and science experiments to learn about the cold and how snow is made. We made snow, used arctic animals to explore through the snow and did water play to discuss the differences between warm, cold and icy water. We also enjoyed making yummy treats such as banana snowmen and learned about different shapes and parts of a snowman. Additionally, we put our pretend play skills into practice by making real s'mores over our pretend play campfire. The grapes have been learning all about how to cook over a bonfire, dress warmly, and build a snowman in our dramatic play center. It has been wonderful to see our students growth following winter break and all of the friendships form between the kids!
